Description

Desoldering Braid or solder wick is made up of tiny braided copper wire strands and used for the removal of solder from the circuit board during repair work in conventional and no clean operations.

Directions

• Make sure solder iron is at the adequate temperature
• Place a suitable size braid in equal size diameter of flat soldering tip onto COLD solder joint
• Apply firm pressure down with a slight rotation of the wrist to ensure that all of the solder is removed
• Remove braid while joint is still molten
• Fast wicking is very important to ensure that the pcb will not be damaged due to extensive heat
• To avoid damage to pads DO NOT apply any lateral pressure to the circuit board
